Rather than getting lost amidst the billion ‘Top Whatever’ lists that every shitty blog is going to pump out, we decided to go about our favourites in a different manner. After several reviews of our close to 1000 posts in 2011, we’ve decided to put together 100/2011- an e-zine showcasing our favourite photographs we posted this year.
BOTY is curated by three photographers who all have distinctly different aesthetic preferences, both in their own work and in others. This zine reflects those differences, all while maintaining a cohesive sense of what, exactly, we take in to account while curating projects.
As we’ve recently celebrated the release of our 50th zine, it’s also nice to know that this week also marks our three year anniversary of working together as an independent publishing house. Pretty crazy to think our first zine, Girls, was just getting started at this time in 2008.
Including photographs by Joe Skilton, Alan Yuch, Jerry Hsu, Thursday Friday, Stefan Simikich, Todd Jordan, Andrea Sonnenberg, Alexis Gross, Sasha Kurmaz, Maurizio Di Iorio, Michael Barolet, Alexander Binder, Hans Nostdahl, Gordon Ball, Matt Martin, Linn-Heidi Stokkedhal, Samantha Casolari, Gian Giacomo, Janis Ganga, Anita Dada, Peter Sutherland, Jonathan LeBlanc, Brandon Tauszik, Robert Johnson, Sonia Bartlett, Adam Kremer, Emily Burtner, Chelsea Muller, Raquel Reina, Francesca Jane Allen, Piotr Sokul, Brad Westcott, Ryan Kenny, Adam Revington, Justin H. Jernigan, Rose Athena, Parker Bright, Jackson Eaton, Chunks, Anna Poggioli, Dylan Bigby, Suzie Zak, Milo Belgrove, Bryce Yates, Chris Robinson, George Crampton, Andrew Eargle, Corrado Dalcò, Christopher Landin, Kristina Bychkova, Grant Hatfield, Peter Funch, David Boyson Cooper, Josh Blank, Carolin Walch, Michael J. I love what these guys are doing - going out and finding great photographers, getting the word out and supporting their practice and creating a wonderful, tangible, product. This is what it’s all about.
